pas de deux / pas de Dieu

Choreographed by: ANAE
Performed by: A. Nia Austin-Edwards & Freddie Pearson

“pas de deux/pas de Dieu” explores what happens when an intimate relationship between two individuals is challenged by an intimate relationship with the Divine. What happens to the relationship and the support system being built when religious conflict enters? How do two people with different foundations find a middle ground? Can two people build a new foundation together that references their original perspectives? Can the relationship continue despite religious differences?

Immortality

Choreographed by: ANAE
Performed by: A. Nia Austin-Edwards

“Immortality” is a cathartic childhood/teenage retrospective. It explores breaking barriers, self-questioning, battling the unfamiliar, and even my own bouts with attempted suicide. It’s one of my first and most personal works and I share it with the hope of connection and growth for both myself and the audience through an honest telling of what is at times a painful story.
